The fix for this is up on GitHub. There's now a test to make sure the Object is not being destroyed before calling any of its functions. Please also be aware that we no longer ship the Editor binaries for Windows and Mac. We expect them to be built locally. For C++ projects this should be no problem...

Hi George, I just pushed this change to GitHub. Windows no longer delay-loads the DLL. This means the DLL has to be placed in the same folder as the EXE so it can be found and automatically loaded. I've added validation to make sure the UObject is not being destroyed before calling its functions. I'll commit the code to GitHub later today, and will post here again to let you know.

Are you using Set w/ NotifyChanged to initialize the password? If you use a regular Set then it doesn't work:

Have you tried stepping through UUserWidget::CreateWidgetOfClass? Is GetWorld() returning null? Or does it fail in CreateWidgetHelpers::ValidateUserWidgetClass? Regardless, I think all failure paths in that function write to the message log. Do you get an error when you run it?
