Re: Unreal Engine 4
I have just tried to build this with UE 4.15 and NoesisGUI-NativeSDK-1.3.0-rc2. With some patching I was able to get the project to build, but cannot get the UI to render correctly. Having looked at the code it appears that a chunk of it is auto generated from the noesisGUI source. Does this mean that the plugin cannot be built with newer versions of noesisgui without regenerating these files?
Re: Unreal Engine 4
Yes, sorry, the RC2 is yet not compatible with Unreal Engine (mainly due to changes in the C++ library).
But we are preparing a new version of Unreal Engine compatible with the final 1.3 to be released at the same time (GDC time).
Thanks!

The plugin has been updated to support UE4.14 and Noesis SDK 1.3 RC2. There were some changes in the engine's rendering code and other bits to account for in the plugin. I haven't tested 4.15 yet, but given I've had to account for some changes every time there's been a new release, I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case this time too.
From now on, I'll try to keep the code working via #ifdefs in all versions post 4.14, where humanly possible, so people are not forced to upgrade if they don't wish to, but still get all the new features added in the future.
I'll post here after testing on 4.15 and performing the appropriate updates.
Re: Unreal Engine 4
Thanks for that.
Is there any way to download prior versions of noesisgui? The download links in the NoesisGUI 1.3 RC3 thread now point to the new release.

Re: Unreal Engine 4
actually nevermind, I found a copy of 1.3.0rc2 I had downloaded previously.
Re: Unreal Engine 4
Sorry for the delay Tom, busy days at GDC.
Right now, the UE4 plugin is compatible with UE4.14 and NoesisGUI 2.0. We will update to 4.15 next monday.
Thanks!

Re: Unreal Engine 4
Hello,
Sorry, it's taken a bit longer than I expected due to some changes on how the engine handles Fonts, but the plugin code is up. There are two branches in the plugin repository, one for 4.14 and another one for 4.15. The code has also been tested with Noesis SDK 2.0.0f1. Just decompress the SDK in Source/ThirdParty/Noesis/NoesisGUI-NativeSDK-2.0.0f1
Bear in mind that 4.15 generates some warnings when building due to some new limitations on which headers can be included. I'll iron those out in the near future.
Please, let us know of any issues you encounter while using it.
I'll start working on porting several of the samples, and adding or fixing anything I find along the way. I'll try to keep both branches up to date, but any work will happen first on 4.15.

Re: Unreal Engine 4
Just a quick heads up.
I've committed quite a few fixes and improvements in the 4.15 branch that I have made while working on the samples. The samples are still coming, but I was trying to come up with the nicest way possible to expose functionality through Blueprints. I already had several ideas on mind, but some of them proved to be not so great.
I want to document the key points in the samples, and streamline them to be as useful as possible. I'll upload them as soon as possible.

Re: Unreal Engine 4
I'll give it a go today and get back to you with an estimate. Font handling was the main change moving from 4.14 to 4.15. Hopefully there won't be many changes moving to 4.16.
