Hi there,

it seems technically not possible that Noesis GUI integrates in the Unity web player.

Can you, Noesis team, confirm the fact that you will not provide your GUI engine for the Unity web player?

This is an important piece of information for me to have in order to choose a GUI solution.

Thank you,
Fabien

Hi,

Yes, confirmed. NoesisGUI is a native plugin and native plugins are not supported within Unity webplayer. Although this path is closed we are working in a port of NoesisGUI to html5+webGL expecting than soon or later Unity add this platform to the list.

We are interested in this GUI plugin, as it is very interesting for us. But we need publishing on Web.
With Unity 5 (now beta download) the WebGL is supported.

Regarding: "port of NoesisGUI to html5+webGL" - is any work progress on it, or not yet in scope? We need to know an approximate date for a beta release of NoesisGUI for Unity 5 with WebGL.

Thank you,
George

Yes, we can confirm that hmlt5 + webgl is in our roadmap. Now that Windows Phone is finished this is our next platform. Although, right now the priority for this task is low. Can't give an estimation date. As soon as Unity5 is out we will reevaluate this again.

Thanks!

Now that Unity5 is out, where does WebGL sit on the roadmap? Is there an estimation as to when this will come out? We're planning some features down the road and what we do depends entirely on when Noesis will be supported on WebGL

Yes, it is in the middle term roadmap although right now we cannot give an estimate about it. When are you planning those features?

Probably in a couple of weeks. We've had to push back a little because of other priorities but knowing by then would be great.

We are already working in v1.3, refactoring the architecture to improve the way new renderers are implemented. This step in mandatory to have a decent output from Emscripten (the tool we are using to convert from C++ to Javascript).

So, right now, far from having WebGL ready.
