Possible to have UI rendered outside of window.

07 Jun 2020, 18:05

Hello,
I was looking to use NoesisGUI for a none game, Unity project I am working on, but was wondering if it is possible to render parts of the UI outside of the main window. For example, a floating window that can be docked within the application like the Unity editor windows that can be moved to another monitor.
Or like drop-downs for when you click a button.

I'm sorry, I am sure this is a very beginner question.

Noesis can render to cameras and render textures in Unity. So you need to investigate if you are able to implement a dockable window with these constraints. You probably need to figure it out asking in Unity forums.

I should clarify, I was wondering if Noesis can render outside of the Unity game window. But it sounds like it cannot if Unity cannot.

Exactly, Noesis cannot be used to create Editor UI.
