MacOS support

31 May 2013, 07:21

Hi

I want to get this to work on MacOS. I see that is experimental.

What is working on MacOS?

I would like to get a simple OpenGL app up where I can fire up your renderer to render a svg file.

Thanks
Don

Hi,

Everything is working on MacOS with the latest version, although the GLSample is yet not ported, but it should be very easy if you want to try. We publish it as soon as possible.

Hi

I downloaded this:
SDK osx: http://www.noesisengine.com/NoesisGui/0 ... 9.4193.zip

When I run Gui.Launcher, nothing happens

Gui.TicTacToe and Gui.XamlPlayer crashes:
0x93ab2a6a __pthread_kill + 10
1 libsystem_c.dylib 0x942fbb2f pthread_kill + 101
2 libsystem_c.dylib 0x943324ec abort + 168
3 libc++abi.dylib 0x916297e0 abort_message + 151
4 libc++abi.dylib 0x91627249 default_terminate() + 34
5 libc++abi.dylib 0x91627289 safe_handler_caller(void (*)()) + 13
6 libc++abi.dylib 0x916272f1 std::terminate() + 23
7 libc++abi.dylib 0x916283e6 __cxa_throw + 110
8 Noesis.dylib 0x000210d1 Noesis::Core::NoesisError(char const*, int, char const*) + 115
9 Noesis.dylib 0x00020a96 Noesis::Core::InvokeErrorHandler(char const*, int, char const*, ...) + 158

This is on 10.8.3 (Nvidia graphics)

Do I need to download something else? There were no runtimes for OSX so all I did was download the OSX SDK

Thanks
Don

Could you attach here the generated log (in the Bin folder)? Thanks.

There is an issue with the data build tool on MacOS as well. I've added my test XAML to the Data/Packages folder, and tried to run scan, with the following output:
./Resource.BuildTool scan --autoadd

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Build Tool - NoesisEngine Data Builder v0.50
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  > Scan Data Packages
  < Scan Data Packages [0.001158 sg]
  Guid::Create() not implemented

Yes, thanks for the report. Will be fixed in the next release. Meanwhile, you can disable the --autoadd switch and create the .make files by hand copying from other .make file and changing the UUID.
