Converters in merged ResourceDictionary (Unity 5)

Hi all,

I have created a number of converters which are common to all of my UIs. I want to place them in an external ResourceDictionary, which I then include in my XAML files using MergedDictionaries.

The converters work perfectly when contained within a XAML file, but when I move them into an external merged dictionary I get a build error (for Noesis GUI) that the converter resource cannot be found.

The resource file itself (which contains the converter) is built without error by Noesis GUI.

I have been combing the internet for days to find a solution, but everything suggests that it should work.

I have seen mention of needing converters in MergedDictionaries to be merged in the App.xaml file, but I do not think we have access to that in the Unity Noesis GUI implementation?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

This problem is a limitation of our current XAML build process. Please create a ticket in our bugtracker because this works in WPF and we have to solve it.

Meanwhile the only option is to define the converter resource in each XAML that uses it, sorry.

Thanks for reporting.

Hi there,

Any update on this issue?

Not being able to use converters with merged dictionaries is becoming a real pain (I am having to copy and paste and resource changes across multiple files).

Thanks,

Mark

Not yet, this issue is planned to be solved for 1.2.7 version.
Sorry for the inconvenience :(
