Blend for VS2015 doesn't support import of .PSD/.AI anymore
Hello!
Recently I've installed Blend for VS2015 and noticed that good old feature "Import from .PSD/.AI" is gone!
Please vote to bring back this feature!
So now to import Photoshop vector shapes to XAML path data I'm using Inkspace:
1. Strip PSD from extra layers (so only the layer with the shape remains).
2. Save and import PSD to Inkscape by using PSD Import Plugin.
3. "Trim to fit" - open Document Properties (Ctrl+Shift+D), click on the text "Resize page to content", click on the button "Resize page to drawing or selection".
4. Open Edit->"XML Editor" (Ctrl+Shift+X).
5. Find svg:path for imported path (should be latest in elements tree), select "d" property and copy content of the textbox (this is SVG path, compatible with XAML path format).
6. Paste to your Path Data or GeometryData in XAML.
I hope it will be useful!
Regards!

Thanks for all this information!! : )
I don't know why they removed this feature. We use it a lot! I have voted to bring it back.

I am part of the Blend for Visual Studio team. We are aware of this request, and it is currently an item for consideration on our backlog. Please continue to vote for this feature request, so that my team can know what features Blend users want.

For Illustrator, assuming you have a copy of Illustrator to work with:
http://mikeswanson.com/xamlexport/
Note: there's a lot it doesn't do.
This one is not free, but looks to do more than Blend did:
http://exportkit.com/product/photoshop/ ... -xaml-view
That also requires a copy of Photoshop.

Yes, I've purchased it immediately when found it... And yesterday I've received a refund for it after two weeks of PayPal dispute. This one is not free, but looks to do more than Blend did:

It doesn't work for me - when I tried to export a vector shape it exported only some XAML like <Image Source="abcd.png"/> (even without the image file), not a path data - this is completely useless for any XAML developer.
The seller answered that I need to buy another plugin (which is cost twice more) which is supposed to unlocking some extra features, but didn't not confirmed that it will unlock exporting vector shapes as XAML Path geometry.
Also they've blocked my IP adress after less than a ten minutes of using their plugin (right after purchase). This is a cloud-based software and somehow it detected that I'm a robot and abusing their servers...
You can buy and try it on your own risk (no trial period). You can request refund - even if they state that the software is not refundable. PayPal buyers protection is very helpful!

Cloud-based!! 8-| Please Microsoft, fix this! They are experts in deprecating features without offering alternatives. Also they've blocked my IP adress after less than a ten minutes of using their plugin (right after purchase).
