VisualState - status won't change

05 Nov 2024, 17:54

Hi, I'm kind of following this tutotial and trying to make a button when the mouse over, the title change colour.
When I'm in Visual States and No state applied, then I made changes for the button appearance, and then I go to MouseOver states, I made changes for the appearance, however all of the Appearance data snap back and I can't make change, forexample I was trying to make a TextBlock Opacity to 100% for No State applied, then trying to make it 0% in MouseOver but the Opacity just snap back to 100%. It would be great if you could give me advice. Thanks!

Hey Marina,

Can you do me a favour as a first step in the diagnosis, and just let me know if you have any Properties at all set in the "Normal" VisualState (which is different than the "No State Applied" VisualState).

The reason I ask, is that I was able to reproduce your issue by having an Opacity set in the 'Normal' state, which prevented me from having a different Opacity in the "No State Applied" in a way very similar to what you described (Opacity Slider snapping back).

So as a first attempt, lets ensure your "Normal" VisualState is completely clear of keyframes.

If this isn't the fix, and we've also verified that a restart of the app doesn't resolve things either, would you mind sending the most minimal version of your project in a zipped folder to [email protected] so that I can look into it?

Thanks!

Hi Marina!

Here to help!
Would you please be able to send over the following to [email protected] :

1) Your project file. I can look into the phantom colour changing for you.

2) For the crash, would you be able to navigate to:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Noesis\Dumps
and send over the Dump File associated with your crash.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for your response! Unfortunatelly we are on the security machine which our internet access is extremely limited, therefore we can't send any file over to you.
I think this is the similar issue as Alex had based on preset action element has. I will dig around tutorial and the video of our chat and see what we can do.
Thanks.

I've also noticed status won't change using Visual State Manager if using Resources to change the look/feel of a component. Is that a bug? Or is it required to break controls from Resources and use local overrides?

Hi, what kind of resources are you applying?
While recording changes of a VisualState I've applied a Color resource to the background brush of a Border element and it was correctly recorded and the change visible in the stage.
Maybe you're referring to something else, could you please elaborate? Or perhaps using an old version of Studio (latest is 0.0.180)?
