Building from Source Code

30 May 2024, 18:12

Clients with access to the source of Noesis can start experimenting with creating a customized build of Noesis Studio. This brings the following advantages:
  • Embedding Noesis Studio: Integrate Noesis Studio into other tools.
  • Custom C++ Extensions: Implement custom controls or converters.
  • Custom Renderers and Resource Providers: Utilize your own renderer and resource providers.
The branch is located at svn://svn.noesisengine.com/Noesis/NoesisSDK/branches/Editor

While this process is not yet fully documented, our vanilla Noesis Studio build uses the NoesisGUI-StudioTool-win.conf configuration file, similar to other official binaries. Among the list of packages included in this configuration, the "App/StudioTool" package contains the source code for integrating the Noesis Studio view into an AppFramework application. The package "Gui/Studio" contains the Noesis Studio implementation.

Note that Noesis Studio will be part of the standard C++ SDK once we reach a stable version.

Please use this thread to comment and share your experiences with building and customizing Noesis Studio from the source code.

Should it be expected to be able to compile for MacOS or only Windows at this point?

Although there is already a .conf for macOS (NoesisGUI-StudioTool-macos.conf), at this point only windows is maintained.

The credentials to fetch studio source form the SVN,
do not work with credentials for the website.

What's the login for svn, do i need to use email instead of user name ?

EDIT: just remembered my license is without source, that would explain it....
