Noesis Interacting with Unity 3D World Space UI

Hi,

I'm developing a CAD-like software in Unity, where I have a few 2D panels and a 3D object panel, where I need to interact with the object (cropping, moving, etc.).

Would Noesis be a good idea to implement such features with? I read the documentation and played with the examples but didn't get many clues.

Thank you!

There are two samples included in the Noesis Unity package that could help you:
  • WorldSpaceUI: This lets you create 3D UI elements integrated directly into your scene, interacting naturally with other 3D objects.
  • Widget3D: This renders UI to a render texture that you can then apply to a 3D object.
Based on what you described, the Widget3D approach is likely the better fit for your CAD-like software, especially if you want interactive 2D panels mapped onto your 3D objects.
