Rive feather doesn't work

I'm testing out the rive integration, and it mostly works fine but vector feathering (
https://rive.app/blog/introducing-vector-feathering) doesn't seem to be supported. It was introduced into rive and rive-cpp early in 2025, and 3.2.8 seems to include the updated code from rive-cpp to support it, but I can't get it to work. I tested in my game in 3.2.8, studio and the player and same result for all.
Just wondering if this known or expected- I'm not sure exactly how the Noesis/Rive integration works with respect to drawing, if there is some translation layer then maybe it hasn't been updated to use this feature or maybe it isn't possible. Happy to make a bug report with sample files.

Thanks for bringing this up. Vector feathering isn’t currently supported in our renderer because Rive’s implementation of this feature is tightly coupled to their own custom renderer. As a result, it’s not available through the Noesis integration at this time.
For simpler cases, we recommend using more efficient alternatives like
BoxShadow. For more general-purpose needs, Noesis provides highly optimized
BlurEffect and
ShadowEffect options. If you require more advanced or stylized effects, you can also create a
custom shader.

Are there any plans for Noesis to directly support vector feathering from Rive?

At present, Rive’s vector feathering is implemented in a way that’s deeply tied to their own proprietary renderer. This makes it non-trivial to integrate into Noesis without replicating parts of that rendering pipeline. We don’t have active plans to add direct support, but we’ll keep evaluating as the API evolves and if there’s strong demand.
In the meantime, similar effects can be achieved with Noesis’s
BlurEffect,
ShadowEffect, or
BoxShadow.

Support for this feature would be very useful. I currently have a complex shape that contains path-based animation using vector points. This shape also has feathering applied in Rive. Transferring this animation to Noesis is practically impossible, or would require extensive animation code just to preserve the feathering effect on the shape.

Could you please share this rive? Thanks

Yes! Here's my animation. It has animations for rounding the edges in the "reverse" direction, squashing the shape in the middle (path animation), and blurring as the shuriken rotates.
