Re: Unity and OSX status..
I'm really hopeful of Mac support. It seems really strange to require Mac to build for iOS, but yet not be able to actually run the code on the Mac itself. Plus, I really want to build games for Mac with Noesis

Not that uncommon, actually. Apple has a very, very developer-unfriendly way of enclosing everything to its own software and OS. It is not completely impossible to develop for iOS without a Mac, but it is rather cumbersome in most cases.I'm really hopeful of Mac support. Re: Unity and OSX status..
I think the problem in this case isn't so much that Apple restricts building for iOS to Mac OS - because Unity runs just fine on the Mac. It's more that when using Noesis at the moment, suddenly an important aspect of your game (the GUI) suddenly is no longer supported on your primary development environment (which, for most people developing for iOS, is Mac OS ). I wouldn't even know how to do an iOS build with Noesis with the current version because when trying to set the path of the SDK in Unity on the Mac, I'm getting an error. Not that uncommon, actually. But I guess it's just a question of time ... since OpenGL is already supported, I'd hope it wouldn't take too long to get this running in the Unity editor
But then the next challenge is ahead due to Unity's multi-platform approach: Windows 8 Store Apps / Windows Phone 8 Apps will be a build target for Unity fairly soon (they've started the open betas for that just recently, see also: Unity 4 Early Access for Windows Store apps and Unity 4 Beta program for Windows Phone 8 apps).

Yes, DX11 and Windows Phone 8 is our next target (after v1.0)

Re: Unity and OSX status..
We make games for iOS mostly using Unity on Mac. So just adding my vote for MacOS support.

Re: Unity and OSX status..
My application runs in the Unity WebPlayer but I develop on a Mac so this is another vote for an OSX version!
Re: Unity and OSX status..
Not to be rude but Windows Phone? That's currently 2% of the overall market share in mobile? What about the OSX version? Do you guys have a roadmap?Yes, DX11 and Windows Phone 8 is our next target (after v1.0)
Re: Unity and OSX status..
The iOS version is almost ready. The problem we have now is that for Unity with iOS we need the OSX, and not only the OSX runtime, but a SDK for building because Unity builds automatically each resource. Being this out of plan, we are still deciding what kind of implementation are we going to release for OSX in v1.0.
Will keep you informed.

Re: Unity and OSX status..
I really hope that the Unity Editor on OSX will be supported soon. At the moment, I only do NoesisGUI testing very sporadically because the only way to do it is to boot into Bootcamp - but then I have almost nothing of my usual working environment (because that's all Mac based).Being this out of plan, we are still deciding what kind of implementation are we going to release for OSX in v1.0.
Keep in mind that everyone who does iOS-development will be using Unity on a Mac ... and while I'll eventually also want to build for Windows Phone 8, that Unity build target is still in beta and it will probably still take a little while for it to be released.
