UX Request: Change zoom level when previewing Play
It'd be nice if we had the option to change the Zoom Level when previewing a page, instead of it just defaulting always to fit to the space between the two sidebars. I get that it's tied to the screen aspect ratio option, but often I need to see how things look at 100% (to test pixel perfect) on an interactive state and I need to go into preview to do that. However, it never really renders at 100% so I can't easily verify that I got it pixel perfect or that everything looks as expected.

Re: UX Request: Change zoom level when previewing Play
Thanks for bringing this up, we are thinking about possible solutions because during play mode we need the mouse interaction to go directly to the controls in the stage, mouse can't be used to zoom in/out or pan the stage contents.
We'll come back with some ideas to discuss.

A potential solution could be to not overwrite the zoom level and aspect ratio but keep the ones the user has set while they are designing? Thanks for bringing this up, we are thinking about possible solutions because during play mode we need the mouse interaction to go directly to the controls in the stage, mouse can't be used to zoom in/out or pan the stage contents.

Re: UX Request: Change zoom level when previewing Play
Yes, I think what we could potentially do here is to essentially conserve the aspect (zoom level and position) of the Stage within the viewport when Play is pressed.
So for example, if you happen to be at 400% zoom, with the UI panned off-centre to the left, it would render exactly as seen on the Stage prior to pressing 'Play'. And if a user wanted to see their screen exactly as it renders now (uniformly filling the viewport), then they can simply press the 'Fit All' button in the View Toolbar prior to hitting 'Play.
There might be some challenges around still granting the freedom to Pan/Zoom during Play since technically the keyboard and mouse interactions are reserved for the Page being played, but this approach would grant the flexibility to achieve what you're looking to do!
