Re: HDR
Hello! Could you please provide more details about this requirement? For example, do you need HDR in the UI itself, or rendering the UI into a HDR surface?
Re: HDR
Hi,
We are interested in what the options are for rendering HDR UI. The first common approach is to render the entire UI into a separate back buffer and then perform a pass where it is alpha-blended onto the buffer where the game is rendered. The second option is to render the UI directly into the buffer already used for the game—similar to how it’s done with a painter’s algorithm—provided that we adhere to the color space and brightness specification.
A follow-up question could be how this works with vectors: if I have some text that will be rasterized, is it possible to handle these assets in HDR as well? In general, we are counting on the Rec. 2100 standard, which is currently the most widespread in the devices we are targeting.
Thank you
Kind Regards,
Miroslav

Re: HDR
By HDR UI, do you mean features such as HDR-color brushes? If so, this is not yet supported in the Core framework. However, if you render to an HDR surface and use ImageBrush with HDR bitmaps, it should work. This is an area we’ve barely explored so far.
If you can provide a more specific scenario or sample, along with the expected output, we can start thinking about a plan.
Thank you!
