Move clipped path but not the clip mask itself

29 Oct 2017, 03:40

I have a path which is clipped by another path. I want to move the path, but keep the clip mask position static. However, if I move the path, the clip path moves with it. How do I stop the clipping mask from moving with the shape?

It has to be done in code (C#).

If only moving the shape but not the clip mask is not possible, perhaps I can move the shape and then move the clip mask back. That would have the same effect. I don't see how this can be done in code though, because adding a name property to the clip path is not allowed so I can't get a handle to it.

Never mind, I figured it out. In Inkscape, group a couple of objects together, then clip the group. Now you can move the individual objects in NoesisGUI without moving the clip mask itself.

That was what I was going to suggest, to clip the container and move the children inside.
Setting this as solved.
