| Summary | 0003489: Studio does not Offer a Way To Modify a Path Saved as a Resource | ||||
| Description | One major advantage of saving a vector Path as a Resource is the ability to update it once, and have it automatically spread to all places where its employed. (Similar to updating a Template, Style, Effect, or many others from their Resource). However, editing a saved vector Path is currently not possible in Studio. (Nor by manipulating of the anchor point's points and curves, and nor by total replacement of the Path geometry.) This means that without manipulating code, a user is unable to adjust the physique of a vector asset that is used throughout the application. In a sense, this somewhat defeats a lot of the purpose of storing a centralised Resource. The proposal for this would be to create a Dummy Editor for Paths that works similarly to the Dummy Editors for Templates and Styles. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Repro Steps: 1) Create a Page. 5) Navigate to the Resources Panel, and within the GlobalResources, find the saved Path resource. Once located, click on it to edit it. 6) Attempt to change the shape of the vector path. 7) Attempt to replace the shape with a different vector from, say, a pasted vector graphic.
