| Summary | 0005287: Data Doesn't Sync Across Open Projects | ||||
| Description | Currently, we offer a dynamic Hot-Reload feature where when changes are made in one place, be it VSCode, another instance of Studio, etc...saving any documents will immediately update the contents within Studio. However, it appears that Data doesn't sync in the same way that XAML does, and it requires a restart of the application to get any newly-created Data to appear if it was made/updated in another application. See attached video Repro Steps: 1) Create a Studio Project featuring a MainPage.xaml 2) Once the Project is created, open a second instance of Noesis Studio, with the same Project open as the instance of Step 1). 3) In either of the open instances, introduce a nice large and visible TextBlock onto the Page, and save all open Documents. 4) In either of the open instances, in the Data Panel, create a Data Structure containing a 'String' Data Property. 5) For the Data Structure created in Step 4), create a Data Set for it, and apply it to the Page root, and fill out any desired word for the String Property Value. 6) Bind the 'Text' Property of the TextBlock introduced in Step 3), to the Property created in Step 4). 7) Save all open Documents in the instance the Data was created in, and the Binding was made in. 8) Observe how in the other instance of Studio, this time the Project has not succeeded in updating what is visible on-Stage, and instead, the TextBlock visually disappears. 9) In the Project in which the TextBlock "disappeared", navigate to its Data Panel. 10) Restart the instance of Studio in which the TextBlock "disappeared" Observe how the TextBlock now displays with the correct Data Value. 11) In the newly-restarted instance, navigate to its Data Panel. Observe how all of the Data has now appeared. Expected Results: Changes to Data sync up when a source is saved in the same manner as it does with XAML changes. | ||||
