Documentation on DataEventBinding for Unreal
I am mostly using NoesisGuiStudio and I tried everything that came to my mind + documentation to make DataEventBinding work,
I tried
which didn't work
then, I tried this
which also didnt work.
but finding this topic (viewtopic.php?t=2918), I figured correct form is
Maybe it is too obvious, but it wasn't for me and I think worth mentioning in docs.
Also using the correct form, Studio doesn't show any info (meaning AndroidBackKeyFired text cannot be found anywhere in UI of Studio), so it seems Studio doesnt also understand this.
(FYI, two other related oddness
1. Is there any easier way to bind to AndroidBack key? I am overriding OnPreviewKeyDown and then raising this event, Somehow in Studio you can see "Back" in DropDown list of KeyEvents but you cannot select it. Also I couldnt find any other way like binding to ESC or such....
2. I had to turn off Transitions so binding several things to AndroidBack event could work fine, ie I had four Grids names Step1, Step2, Step3, Step4, and I had these events which check which one is visible and if visible, then go to a state which hides all others, makes one visible. Somehow with transition on, it didnt work and I had to turn it off on each action...kind of strange behaviour IMO)
I tried
Code: Select all
<noesis:DataEventTrigger Source="{Binding AndroidBackKeyFired}">
</noesis:DataEventTrigger>
then, I tried this
Code: Select all
<noesis:DataEventTrigger EventName="{Binding AndroidBackKeyFired}">
</noesis:DataEventTrigger>
but finding this topic (viewtopic.php?t=2918), I figured correct form is
Code: Select all
<noesis:DataEventTrigger Source="{Binding}" EventName="AndroidBackKeyFired">
</noesis:DataEventTrigger>

Re: Documentation on DataEventBinding for Unreal
Hi!
The documentation for the event can be found here: https://www.noesisengine.com/docs/App.I ... igger.html. You can find the documentation for every other class here: https://www.noesisengine.com/docs/Gui.C ... archy.html.
We're working on integrating Studio into Unreal itself, so it can have access to all your runtime code and data. We'll inform everyone once that's ready.
As for alternatives, our AndroidDisplay maps the back key to "Esc", so you could use a KeyTrigger with Key="Esc" instead. Are you saying you tried that and it didn't work?

Re: Documentation on DataEventBinding for Unreal
Regarding this, could you please create a ticket in our bugtracker. This should show the events exposed by the Data Structures. Right now our Data panel can only define properties but we want to also add the possibility to expose events in the Data Structures.Also using the correct form, Studio doesn't show any info (meaning AndroidBackKeyFired text cannot be found anywhere in UI of Studio), so it seems Studio doesnt also understand this.
This is also a bug, could you report it too? Anyway, as @hcpizzi mentioned, the Android Back key is mapped to the "Escape" key. You should be able to select that one in a KeyTrigger.Somehow in Studio you can see "Back" in DropDown list of KeyEvents but you cannot select it
I'm not following what you're trying to do here, could you elaborate a bit more, or even better create a ticket with a minimal Studio project reproducing the problem. We can try to help you implement it in the best way possible.I had to turn off Transitions so binding several things to AndroidBack event could work fine
