I suspected this might be a false positive but after investigating with our IT provider, it seems that this file is indeed infected.

Let me say that's almost for sure is a false positive, because all our binaries are generated in a clean, isolated build farm. I just checked 'glsl_optimizer.exe' again in virustotal.com:
