Performance on Android and IOS devices
Hi,
I am evaluating currently the trial version, downloaded from Unity Forum link.
(http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/192064 ... e-RELEASED)
I am interested in using the button, grid, tabs etc UI elements, so I am running that part of the demo scene.
I've noticed the perfomance is approx 50-60 fps (running in Editor) on my high performance machine (for comparision: running a scene with few dozens GameObject, with animations tweens etc is approx 3000fps)
As I plan to target IOS and Android devices, my question: How can I create a proof of concept of that business application GUI will run _smooth_ on an average performance Android device and IPad 2?
(as you know trial version does not allow Android and IOS builds)
Thank in advance

Re: Performance on Android and IOS devices
if you are talking about fps on unity, please don't forget to turn off Vsync. I get a 450 - 650 fps for control gallery sample on my machine with vsync disabled.
Re: Performance on Android and IOS devices
Many of the examples can be optimized a lot. In fact, that is something we will be doing in the future. But anyway, you should be getting decent FPS in any of the scenes. The buttons, the clipart should give you hundreds (if not thousand) of FPSs.
Your GUI in mobiles should go smooth. Considering that you don't abuse features like opacity groups or complex styles (for example our style NoesisGUI is not yet very optimized for mobiles, it can be improved a lot).
I you are interested in a trial for mobiles please email us in private.
Thanks.

Re: Performance on Android and IOS devices
I'm interested in that topic too.
I would like to test NoesisGUI/Unity3D in my Android device, get some data from a server, fill that data into a NoesisGUI form, modify that data and return it to server.
