Noesis triggers Windows Firewall dialog

07 Mar 2021, 16:04

Whenever I first run a Windows EXE that loads Noesis.dll, a Windows Defender Firewall dialog pops up. After the first time, an "inbound" connection rule gets added so it doesn't show up again. Is Noesis opening a network port and listening on it? If so, why? If the inbound connection is blocked, nothing bad happens.

Thanks, I attached a screenshot of the dialog. In this case, my unit test DLL loaded Noesis.dll, so testhost.exe was the hosting EXE.

That's the profile library searching for a Inspector server. It can be disabled by
/// Disables all connections from the remote Inspector tool
/// Must be invoked before Noesis::GUI::Init()
NS_GUI_CORE_API void DisableInspector();
