Adding and editing existing .XAML files, styles and templates

10 Jun 2024, 13:02

Greetings from Hypixel!

We just got our hands on Noesis Studio and we are very excited to start working in it! One thing we've been wondering about is how can we add the existing .XAML layouts we've made + all of the styles, templates and resources we have in Studio, so that we can make use of them. We are running our own custom engine and all of our .XAML files are stored into a main UI folder and are then organized into subfolders based on their contextual use. We also have a "DesignSystem" folder which stores the .XAMLs in which we've defined our styles and templates.

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

Your first step is to create a new Studio project (*.noesis file) in your main UI folder.

In Studio, the global dictionary is stored in the GlobalResources.xaml asset. If you already have a global dictionary in your game, I recommend merging it into GlobalResources.xaml. Any resource stored there will be automatically loaded and available for use by other documents.

This first alpha version of Studio may not be ready to handle loading your entire project, so I recommend starting with something smaller.

There are still many pending tasks regarding how we want to handle resources in Studio.
