We are looking into enabling virtualization for some of our larger ItemsControls that potentially can have hundreds of items, but we'd only be showing about 30-40 at a time in the scrollable area. However, we've seem to run into a blocker as our ListBox is using a WrapPanel with fixed height and width for items as the ItemsPanel to achieve an adaptive grid of sorts. But it seems that the only VirtualizingPanel that exists is the VirtualizingStackPanel and in order for virtualization to work, at least from what I'm reading, we need to use a VirtualizingPanel.

So does that mean that we can't achieve virtualization of items in our case?

Hi, you will need to use a VirtualizingWrapPanel as ItemsPanel, unfortunately we don't have one yet implemented: #2346
We can probably work on it for a future release.
