Variable Fonts in Studio
Hello! I can see from the documentation that Noesis supports variable fonts. However in our exploration, it appears that Studio does not. Our current project may wish to make use of a variable font so I was wondering if variable font support is likely to arrive in Studio any time soon, or at all?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Variable Fonts in Studio
Hi Martin,
Variable Weight Fonts are indeed supported!
However, instead of the numerical values often associated with Variable Weight Fonts, in Studio these are set using the 'named' weights found under the "Weight" Property.
Their mapping is as follows:
As for the ability to use numerical input instead of using these preset 'named' weights, I've created a Ticket #4604 for us to look into this.
Let us know if this helps, or if this was instead about a Variable Weight Font not showing up at all, we can continue this further and investigate that.
(On my end, I verified our support of this using the Arimo Variable Weight Font)

Re: Variable Fonts in Studio
Thanks for the reply Dorian! I'll do a bit more testing using the font you linked there, as in my own testing I wasn't able to get the font to change style at all. I'll get back to you on the results.
Cheers!

Re: Variable Fonts in Studio
Standard attributes like Stretch, Weight, and Style should work, as long as the TTF includes the corresponding axes.
Other axes, although already implemented in the runtime, are still not exposed in Studio. The Font panel in Studio is currently pending a redesign.
