[Unity] - 5.4.0 - Vertical visual displacement

18 Mar 2016, 04:02

Hey guys,

I just found something "interesting", if you have any idea as of how to fix it, please let me know.

Now, the problem:

http://puu.sh/nKxW7/2bd9ffa8fe.jpg

The control should be centered but it's being put a bit down. the amount change with the window size.

Regarding the clicks however, they still are positionned correctly, so it's correctly hitting the buttons for the hover events etc etc but it's doing this weird visual thing.

It works well in the editor and I'm using 1.2.5f10 of NoesisGUI.

Hope you can help/this helps. :)

Hi Erio,

Is this issue happening with previous versions of Unity?
Which rendering path are you using?
If you move the window around the desktop, does it change the position where NoesisGUI is rendered?

The effect is very weird

Hi sfernandez,

No, it was not happening with Unity 5.3.

I am using the default so it's in the User Player Settings. so, it's the Forward Rendering Path.

If I do move the window around my screens the placement doesn't change. But if I do resize it, it does xD

The effect is indeed extremely weird.

THE WORSE being that it works perfectly in the editor "play"... xD

EDIT: It also works well when using the uGUI method you described in another thread. But then we lose the flexibility of the XAML to me. :)

I made a simple scene and exported just the scene with the XAML I used.

It works as well on a new project by just adding a new NoesisGUIPanel and attaching it any XAML (I tried with the Style example as well).

It requires to first import NoesisGUI of course. :)

Thanks! Do you mind reporting this in the tracker?

We didn't test Unity 5.4 yet. This must be something they changed.

I have to find the tracker to fill it with the infos but sure, I don't mind :)

I am guessing that this comes from Unity as yes, 5.4.0 brings quite a lot of changes it seems.

I had to modify the plugin I use to have multiple build configurations so that it would compile and properly build the stuffs again.. xD (removed Blackberry support and changed WebWindows and WebiOS to WebGL for example and some functions are forbidden to be called from constructors as of 5.4.0 it seems)

I am guess that this comes from a change on their end as well. But what exactly would probably require to look at the full changelog.

EDIT: found it. :)

You're welcome!

It's nice to be able to help somehow to make it "better" :)
