| Summary | 0005312: Inconsistent Breadcrumb Presentation When Visiting A Parent Style | ||||
| Description | Currently, we allow you to set multiple Cascading Styles to an Element, where for example: In this model, when entering a Style of an Element on the Stage, it will open for Edit the immediate assigned Style, so in the case of the ActionButton, ActionButton_Style will be entered. However, when desiring to continue onward from to edit its 'Based On' Style (ButtonMaster_Style), the Studio UI provides two different ways of presenting this: Within ActionButton_Style, selecting the Style Root in the Navigator, and in its Properties, pressing the 'Pencil' icon adjacent to its 'BasedOn' Property will open 'ButtonMaster_Style' and display a hierarchical Stage Breadcrumb. Within ActionButton_Style, clicking on the downward-pointing arrow within the Stage Breadcrumb, and selecting 'Edit Current' from the Styles Context Menu, will open 'ButtonMaster_Style' and display only the 'ButtonMaster_Style' in isolation in the Stage Breadcrumb. Repro Steps: 1) Download, unzip, and open the attached 'Setters_Project' in Noesis Studio. 2) On the Stage of MainPage.xaml, identify any of the Buttons at the top of the Page, and right-click any of them and enter its Style for Edit. 3) Once inside of the Style, select the Style Root to display its Properties Panel, and identify the 'Based On' Property. 4) Adjacent to the 'Based On' Property will be a little pencil icon labeled 'Edit Resource' --- click it. Observe how the 'parent' Style has been opened in a hierachical context in the Stage's Breadcrumb (Both the 'parent' and the 'child' Style visible side-by-side as two separate crumbs). 5) Return to the first Style directly assigned to the Button on the Stage. 6) This time, hover over the Style's Stage Breadcrumb, and from its 'Styles'-->'Button' Context Menu, open the 'parent' Style for Edit. Expected Results: When viewing and editing Styles inline, all methods of accessing a 'Based On' / 'parent' Style are presented in their hierarchy. | ||||
