Summary0004250: High Element Density Timelines Are Difficult to Manage
Description

Conversation Starter:

I've just came out of a week of doing a set of animations, which each contain hundreds of Elements on-Page.

The #1 barrier for me by quite a long shot to be able to get the animations to a good level of visual quality was due to the difficulty I found in moving keyframes around the Timeline with confidence and felt kinda 'paralyzed' once they were set in place. In particular, I really struggled to 'massage' timings of animation because of just how many diamonds we show in the Timeline that made it cognitively very overwhelming.

In the attached image for example, half of the entire vertical screen is taken up by only 4 Elements with a simple Scale and Opacity adjustment.

This is something for further discussion, but my instinct to resolve this would be to do everything possible to reduce the amount of rows, and diamonds shown in the Timeline.
For example, it currently goes as:

ElementName
--RenderTransform
----Scale
--------ScaleX
--------ScaleY

When it could be potentially reduced to:

ElementName
--RenderTransform: Scale: X
--RenderTransform: Scale: Y

Although it could argued that moving to this model prevents the ability to move the position of both Scales at the same time, we have a keyframe multiselection action which works just as well without duplicating the amount of rows in the Timeline.

For comparisons sake, attached is also an image of the exact same set of Properties changed in AfterEffects vs Studio -- and really shows how overwhelming Studio's is compared to how how it could be simplified/minimized

EDIT: Adding to this: the abilty to drag-and-rearrange Elements in the Timeline would be super helpful in alleviating this as well,
